The ongoing support of the guys I've met on the group has been really valuable, I think we bonded superficially quite well at the start, but now very real and lasting friendships are forming - I hope we can continue to be there for each other.
It's a difficult subject to talk with anyone, but you created an easy and relaxed atmosphere in which I think we all found it easy to talk openly, certainly I did.
I have found the course very positive in preventing inappropriate behaviour particularly early in with the ``not ok, ok and iffy`` exercise. Also the learning about the addiction cycle and what addiction does to your brain. Ultimately the test of effectiveness is whether I have the tools and understanding to stay well clear of harmful activity. I believe I do and the ongoing group comms help with that for each of us I believe.
We use ZOOM to host the group. Zoom works like Skype or FaceTime but enables us to have 6-8 people in one call/meeting. You will be able to see and hear the other people in the meeting but if you don’t want to be seen you can join the group with just audio. The group leader will also be able to share their screen with you so can see the video/materials and tools being used in the session. Zoom works through free desktop software on your PC or Mac or can be used on your smartphone via a free app. Don’t worry, if you register to join a group we will give you more of the techy info. Basically if you have ever used Skype you will be able to do this.
